Money matters

New take home pay program

At Medical Express we value your professionalism and vital contributions to the healthcare industry. That's why we are now offering new, higher, take home pay rates, where you could see up to 15% more each paycheck!  In addition to our exciting new take home pay rates for nurses, many of our traveling nurse assignments offer shift differentials for evening and night shifts, offering increased pay rates for each hour worked. Unlike some other companies, our new take home pay rates for nurses are completely compliant with IRS guidelines—giving you more cash in your pocket.

Generous completion bonuses

Many of our hospital clients also offer lucrative completion bonuses, which can range from $500 to $6,000 for a 13-week assignment. Ask your recruiter for further details.

Referral bonuses

Spread the word about Medical Express to your friends and colleagues and earn extra cash in the process! Once your friend completes a 13-week assignment, we'll mail you a check for $500.

401(k) retirement plan

Our 401(k) plan enables you to save towards your retirement with tax-free dollars. Highlights of the plan include:

• Immediate enrollment—no waiting period;
• Fifteen diverse stock, bond and money market funds to choose from;
• The option to contribute up to 50 percent of your salary, or starting 2009, $16,500 annually and $22,000 if you're 50 or older.

Medical and dental insurance

You’ll enjoy a high level of service with Medical Express' provider of choice, CIGNA HealthCare. Recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for providing an outstanding customer service experience, CIGNA offers an extensive network of providers and healthcare facilities from which you can choose, as well as greater provider discounts that lowers costs to employees. You’ll have the choice of two medical plans, one available from the very first day of your assignment!

Your healthcare benefits include:

• Outpatient physical therapy
• Mental health and substance abuse services
• Prescription drug coverage
• Dental care - basic and preventive care services

CIGNA also offers the added feature of Convenience Care Clinics located throughout the country. These clinics can be used for non-emergency healthcare and your co-pay cost is the same as your doctor’s office visit, which is typically much less than the cost of an emergency room visit.

Discount vision program & voluntary plan

When you enroll in our medical and dental insurance, you'll automatically have access to our  no-cost  vision care benefit through our partnership with VSP. This discount vision program helps you and your family save on eye exams, prescription lenses, frames, contact lenses and other eye care products.
You also have the option to upgrade to a premium plan which includes expanded benefits for annual eye exams and the cost of lenses and frames. This voluntary plan is available to you even if you are not enrolled in any medical or dental plan.

Free basic life insurance

Medical Express travelers receive $10,000 of life and $10,000 of accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage at no cost.

Professional Liability Insurance

Our excellent, comprehensive professional liability insurance―available to all our healthcare professionals, completely free of charge―provides you with coverage from the first day on assignment.

Housing

Premium housing

When you become a traveling nurse with Medical Express, you will be provided with free, private, quality housing conveniently located near your assignment facility. By working exclusively with the country's largest and most reputable property management companies, we can confidently assure our travelers that wherever their assignments take them, their accommodations will be safe and secure, clean, well-appointed and equipped with furniture, modern amenities and utilities. If you have a clinical question or concern, you can depend on our dedicated clinical liaisons—all RNs with many years of experience in a variety of practice settings—to provide a solution. Each of our healthcare professionals has 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week access to a clinical liaison.

The Service Connection

For your convenience, you will have easy access to your paycheck and other personal information through The Service Connection. This secure, Web-based center provides all Medical Express travelers with real-time information on their timecards, direct deposit details and loyalty points, as well as access to many traveler forms.

Tuition discount program

Discounted tuition rates for online degree and certificate programs are available to Medical Express travelers through our partnerships with Drexel University, The College Network and RN.com.
